Astrid Lindgren Award

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) recognizes creators of literature in a broad sense. Nominees include authors, illustrators, storytellers, and persons and organisations who work to promote literacy. 215 candidates from 59 countries have been nominated for this honor. It is the world’s largest children’s literature award. The award winner will be announced on April 5, 2016

Children’s Literature New England and The Examined Life have been nominated for the 2016 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.

Sarah Ellis, CLNE board member and award winning YA author of Odd Man Out, Outside In, Pick-up Sticks and more, has been nominated for the 2016 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.
